Getting started

What is SlateBeaver?

SlateBeaver is a platform with two connected products: Aegis (credential and access management) and Aero (project and operations management). Both products operate under a single organisation with shared team membership, shared audit history, and a shared billing account.

The key design principle is that access to credentials is separate from membership of a project. Joining a project in Aero does not automatically grant access to any credential in Aegis. Access must be explicitly granted, and every grant is recorded.

What you can do with Aegis

  • Store and manage credentials - API keys, database URLs, tokens, service passwords
  • Assign explicit access per credential, not per project
  • Track every access event in an immutable audit log
  • Detect drift when a local .env file diverges from the stored value
  • Grant time-bounded access for temporary work or emergency situations

What you can do with Aero

  • Manage engineering projects as kanban boards or sprint lists
  • Assign tickets, track progress, and log time
  • View burndown charts, velocity, and cycle time reports
  • Link tickets to Aegis credential reveals for audit context

First steps

  1. Create your organisation at app.slatebeaver.com
  2. Invite team members or configure SSO
  3. Set up your first Aegis workspace and import credentials
  4. Create your first Aero project and board
  5. Configure member roles
