About SlateBeaver
SlateBeaver started from watching a real problem happen in a project standup.
The team spent 20 minutes - with 8 people in the room - trying to locate a staging database password. One person had it in a notes app. Another had an older version. The DevOps engineer eventually shared it over Slack. In plaintext.
That same week, a developer left the company. Three projects. No credential handover. The team only found out two weeks later when something broke in production.
This pattern is not rare. It is how most small engineering teams operate - credentials scattered across Slack DMs, Notion pages, and people's heads. No audit trail. No structure. No way to know who has access to what.
SlateBeaver is a direct response to that problem. It is a dedicated credential management platform built for development teams who need structure, access control, and accountability around their secrets - without the complexity of enterprise security tooling that assumes a 50-person IT department.
It is built independently, on personal time, with personal resources. Not a product from a company with a roadmap driven by investor pressure. A real solution to a real problem, maintained by someone who cares about getting it right.
